Panaxy Filtration® : A Vital Choice for F&B Industry
Panaxy Filtration® Awarded Malaysia JAKIM Halal Certification
As consumer awareness around food safety and Halal standards grows, restaurants and food establishments are realizing that it’s not just the food that needs Halal certification—the water used in preparation is equally critical. In November 2023, Panaxy Filtration® proudly received the Malaysian Halal Certification (SPHM) from Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM), marking a significant milestone for the Food and Beverage (F&B) industry.
Panaxy Group CEO, SK Ho, stated during the recent KiniHalal Forum on the Importance of Halal Water Filtration: "This certification not only stands for quality and safety but significantly boosts our brand’s credibility globally. Markets in China and Southeast Asia highly regard Halal certifications issued by Malaysia, making this accreditation particularly valuable." Panaxy had previously obtained Halal certification from India, further strengthening their international market position.
Known for its rigorous standards, JAKIM certification ensures every component—from raw materials to production processes—is strictly Halal-compliant, guaranteeing cleanliness, purity, and freedom from prohibited substances.
During the KiniHalal Forum, Ho illustrated the significance of clean water in the food industry: "Consider this—a regular household may use around 2 liters of water per hour, but a restaurant easily consumes hundreds of thousands of liters annually. This water directly impacts consumers' health, making the choice of Halal-certified water filtration systems crucial."
Panaxy Filtration® completed the Halal certification process with assistance from Serunai Halal Centre of Excellence, Malaysia's trusted Halal certification consultancy. The meticulous preparation and auditing process took around five months. According to Mohd Fakarudin bin Masod, Senior Assistant Director at JAKIM's Halal Management Division: "Many F&B operators overlook Halal criteria for water filtration during their Halal certification applications. Non-compliance often results in application rejections."
Associate Professor Dr Mohd Mahyeddin Mohd Salleh from Universiti Sains Malaysia’s Institute of Fatwa and Halal stated in the forum, referencing a 2020 Harian Metro report: "Numerous water filters available in Malaysia, especially imported ones from China and Taiwan, reportedly contain animal bones from doubtful sources, posing hidden risks to consumers."
Addressing this critical concern, Panaxy Filtration® exclusively employs safe and natural filtration materials, such as coconut-shell activated carbon, ensuring every drop is unquestionably Halal and pure, completely eliminating any hidden risks.
As a responsible enterprise, Panaxy is committed to supporting businesses—including restaurants, cafes, food processing factories, hospitals, and pharmaceutical industries—in achieving full compliance with JAKIM’s Halal audits.
For food service providers, choosing Panaxy Filtration® not only safeguards customer health but also significantly enhances brand trustworthiness and market competitiveness.
